Søren Steenberg Jensen, EVP and Head of Asset Management, participated as an executive panel speaker on a Product Tanker Sector webinar hosted by Capital Link. The live discussion was moderated by Gregory Lewis, Managing Director at BTIG.
The session, part of Capital Link’s Shipping Sector webinar series, brought together senior executives from leading publicly listed product tanker companies to discuss current market conditions and the outlook for the sector. Panelists included representatives from d’Amico International Shipping, Scorpio Tankers, TORM, and Hafnia.
During the discussion, Søren, together with the other panelists, addressed key drivers behind the current strength in product tanker markets, highlighting limited effective fleet growth driven by sanctions, vessel aging, and minimal net CPP capacity additions in 2025. The conversation also covered evolving trade flows resulting from geopolitical developments, refinery disruptions, and shifts in ton-mile demand. In addition, the panel discussed the outlook for OPEC production, global refining capacity trends, supply dynamics across the LR, MR, and Handy segments, and the longer-term implications of the orderbook and shipyard capacity constraints, as well as developments in the sanctioned and dark fleets and their impact on effective supply.
From a capital allocation perspective, Søren shared Hafnia’s approach to shareholder returns, with a continued focus on dividends.
