Shivas Kapoor (Head of Crewing) has been re-elected as one of the Directors in the IMEC Executive Committee for the next 2 years until May 2026.
IMEC (International Maritime Employers Council) is the only international employer’s union in shipping dedicated to maritime industrial relations. It has over 250 shipping companies as its members.
IMEC’s main objective is to negotiate Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs) with ITF and local unions across the globe.
These negotiations are on crew wages and conditions of employment for seafarers. Besides CBA negotiations, IMEC has been at the forefront in driving various recruitment and training initiatives, including cadet programs, people power supply solutions, etc.
