Seascale Energy has been named one of the world’s Top 10 bunker companies in Ship & Bunker’s latest industry ranking, marking the first time that Hafnia and Cargill entities are represented on this list.
The ranking is primarily based on estimated annual bunker sales to end users, together with global sourcing reach and operational relevance. Seascale Energy’s inclusion places the newer platform alongside long-established suppliers in the marine fuels market.
During its first year (including sourcing managed by Hafnia and PMF prior to May 2025), Seascale Energy sourced close to 7.5 million MT of marine fuels across multiple geographies, through a wide set of suppliers across various locations and fuel grades, while maintaining transparent, disciplined processes.
In addition to conventional marine fuels, Seascale has supported the procurement of LNG, various biofuel blends and green methanol, reflecting increasing demand for alternative fuel solutions and compliance-driven sourcing.
Peter Grünwaldt and Olivier Josse, Co‑CEOs of Seascale Energy, welcomed the recognition as a clear sign of the progress achieved since launch.
Both CEO’s remark: “Ship & Bunker’s Top 10 ranking is an industry benchmark that highlights scale in the bunker market. Appearing on the list within our first year is an important milestone and indicates that the JV is delivering and earning its place among long‑established players.” Peter and Olivier continue “As the fuels landscape evolves, our focus remains on supporting customers with reliable supply today and clear pathways through emerging regulations and decarbonization requirements.,”
