MMS and Hafnia Seafarer Forum 2026

Hafnia and MMS successfully concluded the MMS Hafnia Forum 2026 in Gurugram, Delhi. The forum brought together 73 participants including seafarers, MMS onshore team members from Tokyo, Singapore, Delhi and Mumbai, Hafnia onshore team members, and a DNV representative.

The event opened with a strong focus on safety, covering Bridge Resource Management, human factors, situational awareness, and command presence during critical operations. Technical discussions centered on preventive maintenance, fleet standardization, and CARGO pump operations, with a shared emphasis on reducing breakdowns and off-hire across the fleet.

Compliance and PSC readiness featured as a key priority, addressing common inspection deficiencies, documentation standards, and the importance of embedding a proactive compliance culture onboard. Commercial awareness was also on the agenda, with discussions highlighting how onboard decision-making directly impacts TCE, voyage efficiency, and charterer confidence, alongside bunker management and stakeholder communication.

The forum additionally introduced several new training initiatives spanning SIRE 2.0 and CDI readiness, and advanced cargo competencies – reflecting the industry’s continued evolution toward new fuels and increasingly rigorous inspection standards.

Thank you to everyone who participated!
