Hafnia CEO Mikael Skov participated and spoke at TradeWinds Shipowners Forum hosted by TradeWinds at Nor-Shipping in Oslo, Norway on the 7th of June.
The TradeWinds Shipowners Forum Oslo, 2023 examined how collaboration and strategizing across the value chain can overcome challenges and optimise the commercial benefits of these evolutions for market players of different sizes. The forum hosted various panel debates discussing how the industry can pull together and collaborate, to ensure shipping and maritime is placed on a commercially sound footing along the path to decarbonisation.
Mikael Skov participated in Session Three of the day – “The Shipowners and Charterers Roundtable: How should business models adjust to manage the risks of the 2020s?” discussing how business models should adjust to manage the risks of our era.
Session 3 set out to focus on the complexity of the evolving shipping industry and the trajectory of the market steered by a net-zero agenda, an environment of high geopolitical risk, investor activism, and price volatility. Together with C-level executives from Cargill Ocean Transportation, Maersk Tankers, DNB Bank, Capital Maritime & Trading Corp, and Angelicoussis Group, Mikael participated in panel debates on the cost and responsibility of decarbonisation in relevance to the supply chain, industry stakeholders on marine fuels and collaboration, the effects of decarbonization on small and intermediate-sized shipowners, evolved investor behaviour and expectations and the industry adapting to an environment of increasing geopolitical tension.
