Hafnia CEO Mikael Skov participated in the panel: The Future of Energy Shipping during the Tradewinds Shipowners Forum, Panel 3 at this year’s Nor-Shipping event in Oslo.
The session, moderated by Julian Bray, Editor-in-Chief of TradeWinds, brought together industry leaders, including representatives from Flex LNG & Avance Gas, DHT Holdings, Trafigura, D’Amico International Shipping, and DNB, to discuss the evolving landscape of energy transportation. With energy cargoes accounting for nearly 40% of global shipping by volume, the session centered on how the sector is navigating geopolitical disruptions, decarbonization challenges, and changing investment dynamics.
During the panel, Mikael Skov offered key perspectives on the implications of trade volatility, the resilience of oil demand, the evolving regulatory framework (including the IMO’s mid-term measures), the scaling of alternative fuels, and the shadow fleet’s growing presence.
