Mia Krogslund Jørgensen: Speaker at the Launch of the Fionia Maritime Academy

Hafnia’s Head of People, Culture and Strategy, Mia Krogslund Jørgensen, VP was a keynote speaker at the official launch of the Fionia Maritime Academy, an event hosted at Gorrissen Federspiel in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The event marked the beginning of a new initiative focused on strengthening the competencies of seafarers through digitally accessible business education. During her presentation, Mia emphasized the importance of investing in seafarer education to future-proof the maritime workforce.

The Fionia Maritime Academy was created in response to a clear industry need: to equip seafarers with business knowledge relevant to today’s evolving maritime landscape. Hafnia is pleased to support the academy during its pilot course – Fundamental Course: Business for Seafarers (FMA1), which ran in December 2024. 22 Hafnia Seafaring officers completed this, – through live and recorded teaching formats.

Following the success of the pilot, the full-scale program has now launched – extended to participants of the pilot as well as an additional 45 seafarers. This version will feature eight modules, including personalized 1-to-1 coaching sessions, covering topics such as: Maritime Law, Maritime Governance, Maritime Economics, Maritime Digitalization, Sustainability, Maritime Geopolitics, and more.
