During the S&P Global APPEC 2025 Conference, Kasper Sørensen, Head of Marine Fuels Procurement, East at Seascale Energy, joined industry leaders on the panel “Shaping the Future Maritime Energy Mix.” The discussion brought together diverse perspectives on the evolving fuel landscape, supply-demand dynamics, and collaborative pathways to decarbonization.
Alongside Michelle Gonzalez (Vale), Raul Garcia Redondo (Repsol), and Carsten Ladekjaer (Glander International Bunkering), Kasper shared insights into Seascale Energy’s approach to the energy transition. Guided by moderator Surabhi Sahu from S&P Global Commodity Insights, the panel explored market share trends through 2030, infrastructure needs for alternative fuels, and maritime transition scenarios.
During the panel, Kasper highlighted Seascale’s procurement strategy in adapting to integrate alternative fuels from a commercial viability perspective, the key supply chain risks in the alternative fuels markets, and the evolving role of procurement amid tightening greenhouse gas regulations.
Other topics amongst others included collaboration as a key driver of decarbonization and Seascale’s role in fostering partnerships that address both immediate customer requirements and long-term transition goals.
