In collaboration with Reederei Nord and Chartworld, Hafnia is pleased to announce the launch of an LR2 pool called ”The Hafnia LR2 Pool by Reederei Nord, Chartworld & Hafnia”.
With vessels delivered into the pool as of 1st July 2022, the fleet within the pool will initially consist of 7 modern units. With this launch, Hafnia will now be running pools across all product tanker segments, complementing its current offering of operating pools from smaller tankers to LR1s.

With the LR1 and LR2 markets having a significant degree of overlap, we expect the synergies of the two pools to complement each other brilliantly and further extend the services we can offer our clients. We are excited to now be operating in the LR2 pool management space, where we look forward to further leveraging our market-leading position in the LR1 segment” says Peter Kolding, Vice President, Commercial and Pool Management of Hafnia, who further adds, “Whereas the three founding partners of the LR2 Pool, know each other well through years of partnership, we are excited and open to commence dialogue with additional partners, operating in this segment, irrespective of whether they may have had previous experience with us or not”.
With the Hafnia LR2 Pool launch, Hafnia, which is led by CEO Mikael Skov, will operate over 240 product and chemical tankers across their commercial platforms, from worldwide offices in Singapore, Dubai, and Copenhagen, and Houston.
Reederei Nord comments: “We are thrilled to commence this new venture with close friends. Reederei Nord, with their offices in Amsterdam, Hamburg, and Limassol, are represented in the LR1 and LR2 segments as well as in Aframaxes, Feedersize Containerships and Bulk Carriers. Reederei NORD manages their Aframaxes in the N2 Tankers Pool (JV with Nissen Kaiun), the Container ships in a JV platform Hanseatic Unity Chartering – HUC and the Bulkers in the Hanseatic Unity Handysize Pool (JV with peter Doehle).
