Hafnia this week took part in the Maritime Anti-Corruption Network (MACN)’s Spring Member Meeting where CEO Mikael Skov contributed to the fireside session titled “Leading with Integrity”, hosted by Chris Rycroft of Percepti Global.
Mikael’s session featured a candid fireside chat focused on the importance of ethical leadership in the maritime industry, and the need to embed integrity not just in corporate policy, but in everyday practice.
During the discussion, Mikael covered the ethical challenges commonly faced in shipping. the culture and pressures surrounding decision-making at sea and on shore, the role of training in supporting high-risk positions. the responsibility of leadership in setting and upholding ethical standards and the importance of zero-tolerance policies and capacity-building.
Hafnia was represented in the three day MACN Spring members meeting by Dorte Thuesen Christensen, VP, Head of Operations & Claims and a member of MACN’s Board of Directors, Peter Kargaard, Operations and Martin Karst, Legal Counsel.
