Hafnia recently concluded its Senior Officers, Junior Officers & Ratings Conference held in Clark, Philippines from 5 – 7 May 2026.
The three-day event brought together approximately 150 participants, including Senior and Junior Officers, Ratings, Office Staff, and external partners, creating meaningful dialogue on leadership, safety, and innovation. Senior Officers from the Technically Outsourced Fleet also took part in the conference.
The conference opened with an address by Ralph Juhl, EVP, Head of Technical, who shared key updates on Hafnia’s growth progress, with a welcome video message from Hafnia CEO Mikael Skov. Surajit Chanda, VP, Head of Technical for the In-house Fleet, reinforced the company’s CARE values, vision, and purpose, emphasizing accountability and ownership in alignment with the conference theme: “Reliability: We take ownership and we are accountable for what we do.”
Throughout the event, participants engaged in a wide range of sessions covering anti-bribery and anti-corruption, global security, operational updates, incident reviews, technical performance, crewing, and leadership growth. A key highlight was the “Ambitious Leadership @ SEA” session led by Green-Jakobsen, which reinforced Hafnia’s focus on continuous learning and psychological safety.
A dedicated session with Martrust representatives presented the new digital e-wallet solution, adding a practical dimension to the conference’s innovation agenda. In addition, the event offered valuable networking opportunities through a Welcome Dinner and a Rodeo themed Gala Dinner, during which three officers were recognized with Long Service Awards.
The final day focused on Junior Officers and Ratings, featuring sessions on company updates, safety, security, and human factors, ensuring strong engagement across all levels of the fleet. This year’s program introduced several new and impactful topics not commonly included in previous editions, such as insurance, Ship Palm, MLOFT, and on purchasing.
The final day also provided for an excellent opportunity for Junior Officers and Ratings to connect with the Senior Officers over lunch and reconnect across the fleet. Both conferences were highly interactive, with active participation and strong engagement throughout.
Hafnia extends its appreciation to all participants, speakers, and contributors for their commitment, energy, and collaboration, which made the conference a resounding success.
