Eric Bea (Projects and Fleet Sustainability) represented Hafnia on the Digital and Decarbonization Innovations in Maritime Operations panel at the Smart Maritime Network Singapore 2024 conference.
The panel discussion provided a platform for innovators in the maritime industry to discuss how digitalization in maritime operations is driving efforts towards decarbonization efforts and the IMO goal of achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
During the session, Eric shared insights on Hafnia’s continuing efforts to adopt human-centric digital tools and practices, including projects such as Zeronorth’s Smartship and SmartVoyager, Complexio’s reasoning and predictive artificial intelligence (AI), and DNV’s Emissions Connect. He also emphasized Hafnia’s People First approach in the world of digitalization and AI, ensuring that ship and shore staff are well supported in the continuing journey. This includes the central role of the Electrical Superintendents, Fleet IT, and Data and Analysis teams in Hafnia in connecting ship staff and shore staff via Big Data.
