CHW is developing Ascension Clean Energy (ACE) which is a world-scale clean ammonia project in collaboration with strategic shareholders such as ExxonMobil, Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) and Hafnia.

Located in Ascension Parish, Louisiana, ACE aims to be the most cost competitive, low-carbon intensity clean ammonia producer globally. The project intends to capture up to 98% of CO2 emissions from its processes, providing a scalable pathway to supply carbon-free energy.

Final Investment Decision (FID) is estimated for second half of 2025. The first phase is expected to deliver 2.4 MTPA by 2028-2029, with additional phases of up to 7.2 MTPA, for export to Europe and Asia.

Subject to FID, Hafnia intends to construct and take delivery of two to three VLACs by 2028-2029, aligned with the start of ammonia production.
